Our passion is in the complex clothing industry and we would love to see a change! To us, the clothing industry symbolizes inequality of the world: the chain is full of extremes of rich and poor. We dream of a world that is more honest, friendly and fair. We want to close the gap a little more between the two extremes, we want to create awareness and think in possibilities; to discover ways to make it work.
At this moment, we know too little about the impact of clothing on people and the environment. In recent years, we have seen how much effect transparency has, but also how easy it is to fool a consumer. In the world of children's clothing, we see a lack of brands that are genuinely honest and open about what they do, not only honest to parents, but also honest to children.
At Be Kind, we believe in the power of kindness and openness. And with those two words constantly in mind, we are taking our first steps into clothing land. We want to share the things we learn along the way with you and your child. We think that is important! You deserve to know what you are buying, but you also deserve to learn about what's behind clothing in general. Transparency also includes openness about the challenges. Working with good factories is a nice step, but it's only the first step. The process of a piece of clothing goes so much further. Think of yarn, buttons, strings, packaging and labels. We try to go as far as possible in all these areas, but we also know that this is complicated. Unfortunately, openness and transparency are not the norm in this industry yet. Finding out about the true origin of products is a difficult task!
We hope that our journey of discovery inspires you to start making more conscious choices yourself. Every step you take in that direction, whether it is a small step a huge step, is valuable.
